The inside of the mouth can be the first sign of disease. The tissue in the mouth is normally a coral pink color. When an area of discoloration appears, it can be a sign of concern. The most serious of these is oral cancer. If you notice a red or white area inside the mouth, a lump or bump that does not go away, or a sore that does not heal, you should be examined by your dentist or an oral surgeon.

We welcome the opportunity to check these areas of concern and if needed, Dr. Fugler will biopsy the area to get a definitive diagnosis. It is important for you to check your lips, palate, inside of cheeks, tongue, and gums for any abnormal areas. If you notice something of concern, please schedule a consultation appointment with our office.
